1. The Service

Alert SoundBox is an Android application that reads payment notifications and SMS messages received on your device, identifies incoming payments, and announces the amount aloud in the language you select. It also keeps a history of those payments, offers reports, and lets you share payment alerts with members of a team that you create or join.

Alert SoundBox is a convenience tool. We are not a bank, a payment service provider, a payment aggregator, or a payment system operator. We do not receive, hold, transfer or settle your customers' money, and we are not a party to any transaction between you and your customers. Money you receive reaches your bank account through your own UPI application and bank, not through us.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a legally binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that business, and "you" includes that business.

3. Your account

You sign in with a mobile number that you own, verified by a one-time code sent on WhatsApp or by Truecaller verification. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your device secure, and to tell us promptly at support@bottercc.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You may not transfer your account to another person.

4. Permissions you grant

To work, the app needs certain permissions on your device. By granting them you authorise the app to use them for the purposes described below and in our Privacy Policy:

You may withdraw any permission at any time in your device settings, but parts of the Service will then stop working. You are responsible for the volume, settings and state of your device. The Service cannot announce a payment if your device is switched off, muted, in a call, has its permissions removed, or if the operating system or a manufacturer's battery feature stops the app.

5. Subscriptions, trial and payments

5.1 Plan and price

Access to the Service is provided on a paid subscription. At the time of writing, the plan consists of an introductory trial of 3 days for ₹1, followed by ₹49 every 30 days. The prices, billing interval and trial length in force at the time you subscribe are shown in the app and on our website before you pay, and they are the ones that apply to you.

5.2 Automatic renewal and authorisation

Subscriptions are billed using the UPI AutoPay recurring-payment facility, processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited ("Razorpay"). When you start the trial you authorise a recurring mandate through your own UPI application. You authorise Bottercc, through Razorpay, to debit the trial amount when you start the trial and thereafter the then-current subscription price at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Debits are subject to the pre-debit notification and authentication requirements of the Reserve Bank of India and the National Payments Corporation of India, and your UPI application and bank may send you notices of upcoming debits.

5.3 Price changes

We may change our prices from time to time. A new price applies to new subscriptions from the date it is published. If a price change would affect a subscription that is already running, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel before the change takes effect; where the payment network requires it, the change will take effect only after you authorise it.

5.4 Failed payments

If a payment fails, we or Razorpay may retry it for a limited period. If it cannot be collected, your subscription may be suspended or ended and the paid features withdrawn until a valid payment is made. We may notify you of a failed payment in the app.

5.5 Taxes and charges

Prices are in Indian Rupees. Unless we state otherwise, prices include applicable taxes. Your bank, UPI application or card network may charge you separately, and we are not responsible for those charges.

5.6 Payment processing

Payments are handled by Razorpay under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not see or store your UPI PIN, card number, bank credentials or other payment instrument details.

6. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time. To cancel, open the subscription or AutoPay section of the payment application you used to set up the mandate (for example, the UPI application on your phone) and cancel the Alert SoundBox mandate. Cancelling stops future debits. Unless the law requires otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and you may keep using the Service until then.

Except where required by applicable law, amounts already paid, including the introductory trial charge, are non-refundable, and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods or unused time. If you believe you have been charged in error, write to us within 30 days of the charge at support@bottercc.com with your registered mobile number and the transaction details, and we will review it promptly.

7. Team feature

The Service lets you create a team and invite other people, by QR code or by mobile number, to receive payment alerts for your account. If you add team members, you (a) confirm that you are entitled to share that payment information with them, (b) are responsible for the people you add and may remove them at any time, and (c) understand that team members will see the amounts, payer names and times of payments you receive. If you join a team, you agree that the team owner's payment alerts will be delivered to your device. Each person must comply with these Terms.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to allow anyone else to:

Important: an announcement or entry in Alert SoundBox is generated from a message on your phone and is not a confirmation from your bank. Always confirm that money has reached your account before handing over goods or services.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including the app, its design, text, graphics, sounds, software and trademarks, is owned by Bottercc or its licensors and is protected by Indian and international intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms and payment of the applicable fees, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own business or personal use. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. "Alert SoundBox" and its logo may not be used without our written permission. You retain ownership of the payment data generated on your device; you grant us a licence to process it as needed to provide the Service as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, including Razorpay (payments), Fast2SMS (delivery of WhatsApp verification codes), Truecaller (optional sign-in verification), Google Firebase (push notifications and installation identifiers) and Google Play (distribution). These services are governed by their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for their acts, omissions or availability. Names and marks of third parties belong to their owners, and Alert SoundBox is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google, NPCI, any bank or any UPI application.

11. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, timely or error-free. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service, add or remove features, or require you to update the app to continue using it. Detection of payments depends on the format of messages sent by third-party apps and banks, which can change without notice; we update our detection rules from time to time but cannot guarantee that every payment will be detected, correctly read or announced.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and any warranty that the Service will detect, announce or record every payment correctly or at all.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bottercc, its owners, directors, employees and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service, including losses caused by a payment that was not detected or announced, was announced incorrectly, or was announced for a message that was not a genuine payment.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the Service in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bottercc and its owners, directors, employees and affiliates from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any law or the rights of any person, including any person you add to a team.

15. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by cancelling your subscription as described in Section 6 and uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, if your payments fail, or if we reasonably believe your use creates a risk of harm or fraud. On termination your licence to use the app ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including Sections 5, 6, 9, 12 to 14 and 16, will survive. To request deletion of your account and data, see our Privacy Policy.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to first try to resolve the dispute informally by writing to us at support@bottercc.com; we will try to resolve it within 30 days. If it is not resolved, the courts of competent jurisdiction in India will have exclusive jurisdiction, and nothing in this Section limits any right you have as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other applicable law.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you in the app or by another reasonable means before it takes effect, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Your continued use of the Service after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.

18. General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service and replace any earlier understanding. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Notices to you may be given in the app, by notification, or to your registered mobile number. We are not liable for any delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including telecom, network, power, payment-network or platform outages.
